The item in my kit
I bought KILMAT Butyl Sound-Deadening Mats as part of my camper van equipment.

Where it fits my build
The preparation session began with sweeping the cargo area. I followed with a mop and floor-cleaner spray, and used a towel and Simple Green on the walls.
For material that remained stuck to the floor, I used wire-brush and nylon-brush drill attachments. I dried the cleaned floor with a towel after working through those stages.

My build notes
Dust and residue had accumulated while I was repeatedly loading tools into the van and driving out to work on it. This session was about getting the cargo area ready for the next material stage.
The loose dirt, stuck-on residue and final drying were separate preparation jobs.
Alternative products
Two alternatives to compare
Noico Pro and Siless are alternative butyl-sheet products. Sheet layout and the amount supplied in a package are useful planning differences when laying out material across vehicle panels.
Noico Pro Butyl Sound-Deadening Mat
This sound-deadening material uses butyl sheets with a foil-facing layer. The separate sheets provide a cut-to-shape format for vehicle panels.
