The Camper Van Freedom library brings together the original van build diary, planning guides, diagrams and reference notes. Its recovered content covers tools, Ford Transit references, electrical and solar systems, aluminum framing, and the practical details of a camper van build.
Read the build diary for individual projects, or browse the build library by topic.
Meet Steven Smith

I’m Steven Smith. Camper Van Freedom follows my 2023 Ford Transit 250 high-roof extended build through my photographs, project videos and written records.
I document the parts, work and decisions as the van changes. The wheel-and-tire photos are one example: the original setup, a shop visit and the installed result.
Find Your Starting Point
Choose the resource that matches the question ahead. The build-guide library organizes practical subjects, while the dated diary follows recorded work sessions. Use the decision log when you need a place to collect alternatives, evidence and the next action.
Read Each Resource In Context
The library includes different kinds of material. A diary entry records a particular work session and its stated progress. A guide helps organize a topic or decision. A diagram, linked manual or product reference needs to be read with its own equipment, vehicle and publication context.
Save the source documents, photographs and dated project notes alongside the details for your configuration.
Keep The Source With The Question
When collecting information, save the page address and the specific drawing, document or entry involved. Record the observation separately from an assumption so you can return to the same point when a decision changes.
For a question or correction about a resource, use the contact page and include the page address and relevant detail. This makes it easier to identify the source you mean.
