Vanspeed Transit Capsules: My Purchase and Installation Experience

By · Camper Van Freedom

Why I Would Not Buy Capsules Again

I bought the version without bunk windows and installed it on my 2023 Ford Transit 250 Extended. The capsules arrived damaged, and I used Bondo Glass to repair the fiberglass before coating them.

I spent at least eight extra hours on the damage repairs, then had to cut and sand the capsule edges to work around the fit problems. Adhesive spread onto the factory white paint during my solo fitting attempt, and the project grew into a larger exterior bedliner job.

If I were starting again, I would put the bed lengthwise and leave the sides of the van alone. The inches gained were not worth the money, work and frustration for me.
