Black sealant around a roof-rack landing pad during my installation.
Why I bought it
DEWALT DCE560B Cordless Caulking Gun appears in my build materials and equipment for this work.
Sealing the roof-rack landing pads showed me how much access matters: once the pads were in place, the nozzle could not reach every area underneath.
How I used it in my camper van
The DCE560B was included in my roof-rack tool list for the sealing work.
I removed the factory roof covers, widened the mounting holes and scraped the paint and adhesive from the landing-pad areas. I then fitted the landing pads and assembled the side rails, crossbars and fairing.
The sealant timing made the assembly messy. I applied it early and got it on my hands and parts, while the installed pads left little space for reaching underneath with the nozzle.

My review
The access around the pad was the memorable part of this job. Small spaces between the roof, pad and rail affected how I could position the sealant and tighten the hardware.
The order of assembly changed which parts of the joint I could reach.
Alternative products
Two alternatives to compare
The two manual guns use a hand-operated trigger, while my DEWALT uses a powered plunger. Nozzle access and the room around the cartridge remain important with either approach.
Newborn 930-GTD Caulking Gun
This hand-operated caulking gun uses an open cradle and a smooth push rod. Its trigger moves the plunger to dispense material from a cartridge.
