Method MR701 Matte-Black Wheels
I replaced my Transit’s silver steel wheels with matte-black Method MR701s. Here are the wheels from my purchase record, the change I photographed, and two current wheel options to compare.
My purchase record names the matte-black Method MR701 in a 16 × 6.5-inch size, with a 6 × 180 mm bolt pattern and +90 mm offset. The Amazon product above lists that configuration. The Method model designation matters here: it connects the purchase record with the MR701 name I used when introducing the boxes beside the van.
I photographed the change from the original silver steel wheels through to the installed black wheels. The shape and color are easy to see in those photographs, especially when comparing a close view of the original wheel with the finished van. The full sequence, including the tire-shop visit and removed assemblies, is in my Method wheel-and-tire project story.

From the boxes to the wheels on my Transit
The shop photograph captures the starting point: my white Transit still wearing its original silver wheels, with the Method boxes beside it. Later photographs show the original wheel-and-tire assemblies removed and the black wheels installed. Keeping the shop view alongside the result makes this a useful record of one actual change to the van.

In my introduction I named the wheels as matte-black MR701s. The finished short below combines that introduction with project imagery. It is a quick way to see the product in the context of my build before moving into the size and design comparison.

Compare the wheel dimensions and face designs
The MR703 option below lists the same diameter, width, bolt pattern and offset as the MR701 purchase record. Its face has a different arrangement of openings and Method lettering. Comparing the two product images is a useful way to choose which appearance you prefer.
The RTX Adventure is a separate wheel design with different dimensions: 16 × 6 inches and +84 mm offset. That makes width and offset meaningful differences in this comparison, even though the diameter and listed bolt pattern are shared. The six-lug RTX image below corresponds to the six-lug version.
Each row keeps its own product identity and purchase link. My build photographs show the MR701; the MR703 and RTX are comparison alternatives.
The Method MR703 listing specifies a matte-black 16-by-6.5-inch wheel with a 6-by-180 bolt pattern and positive 90 mm offset. Its face uses a different design from the MR701.
The RTX Adventure listing specifies a satin-black 16-by-6-inch wheel with a 6-by-180 bolt pattern. Its listed positive 84 mm offset and 139 mm hub bore differ from the recorded MR701 configuration.
I was pleased with how the new black wheels looked on the van. That reaction is the part of my experience I can connect directly to the before-and-after photographs: the silver steel wheels gave way to a darker wheel face, changing the appearance of the white Transit.
For me, the most useful comparison on this page is between the recorded MR701 configuration and the alternatives’ actual listed dimensions and face designs. The MR703 keeps the same four dimensions shown in the table; the RTX changes the width and offset as well as the design. Those differences deserve their own rows instead of grouping all three wheels together as the same option.
