The storage-bin drawer began with measurements and a timber frame on the patio. Its width, depth and height had to work together with the slides and the surrounding cabinet.
I bought Komelon Self-Lock Tape Measure as part of my camper van equipment.

Where it fits my build
I built the storage-bin drawer frame on the patio from a measured layout. I joined the timber, added inside corner brackets and fitted the base before moving on to the lining.
I cut the rubber mat with scissors, cleaned the wood and used spray adhesive in sections with a roller. Screws and washers attached the mat, and the slides joined the drawer to its surrounding cabinet frame.

My build notes
The drawer went through several distinct stages before it could slide in the cabinet. The photographs show the exposed frame first and the lined drawer later, making the changes in access and fastening positions visible.
Measuring, framing, lining and slide installation were separate stages of the drawer assembly.
Alternative products
Two alternatives to compare
The DEWALT ToughSeries and STANLEY PowerLock are two other retractable tape measures. Their case shapes and blade-lock arrangements provide alternatives to the Komelon self-locking format.
DEWALT ToughSeries Tape Measure
This retractable tape measure provides a marked steel blade for measuring parts and spaces. Its case stores the blade between layout and cutting tasks.
