PVC cement was part of joining the roof-conduit route I built for the light and camera wiring. I applied it as the pipe and junction-box layout came together.

Why I bought it
I designed a PVC conduit route in SketchUp for the roof wiring. The route connected pipe sections, elbows and junction boxes around the roof-rack area.
Oatey clear PVC cement was in the materials for assembling those PVC connections. It had a different task from the sealant used at threaded junction-box entries.
How I used it in my camper van
During the roof-wiring work, I fitted the conduit pieces around the junction boxes and ran the wires along the route. I applied PVC cement to various connections as that assembly progressed.
On the final day of this stage, I connected the remaining pipe sections, covered the junction boxes and cemented the remaining PVC parts together. I also added and tightened metal ties around the conduit assembly.

My review
The cement belonged to the final joining work, after the layout, box positions and wire route had taken shape. My photographs show how many individual connections were involved around the junction boxes.
I treated the pipe joints and threaded box connections as separate tasks. The diary lists cement at the PVC connections and sealant at the threaded connections; that distinction is useful for understanding how I assembled the route.
