I used a metal cable-tie tool while fastening the roof conduit to the rack extrusion. Tightening the metal ties returned to the job as more of the route was assembled.
Metal ties around a section of my roof-conduit route.
Why I bought it
The conduit route needed attachments around the roof-rack extrusion. I included a stainless-steel cable-tie tool kit in the equipment for installing the metal ties.
This was the fastening stage of a project that also involved pipe cutting, box entries and wire pulling. The tie tool had a separate job from the drill and the wire-connection tools.
How I used it in my camper van
I mounted sections of conduit to the aluminum extrusion with metal zip ties and the metal-tie tool. I added further ties as the pipe and box layout grew around the roof.
On the final day of that stage, I added and tightened metal ties around the conduit assembly after pulling wires, fitting the remaining entries and joining the last pipe sections. The photos show the bands around the route and at a box location.

My review
The useful role of this tool in my build was the repeated tensioning work on metal ties. The attachment work happened both while the route was being built and again during the final assembly steps.
I would place it with the mounting tools for this project. It belonged to fastening the pipe route to the rack, while other tools handled the holes, wire ends and PVC joints.
Metal-tie fastening was a recurring stage as the conduit route took shape.

Two alternatives to compare
The Idong kit combines a metal-tie tool with a tie assortment. The iCrimp tool provides another hand-operated tensioning and cutting arrangement, with a release tool included. Tool operation and the ties being installed are the practical comparison points for this fastening task.
Idong Stainless-Steel Cable-Tie Gun Kit
This kit combines a stainless-steel cable-tie tensioning tool with metal ties. The tool tightens a tie and trims the remaining tail during assembly work.
This hand-operated tool tensions stainless-steel cable ties and cuts their tails. Its one-handed operation and included release tool provide another metal-tie installation arrangement.
