TICONN Solder-Seal Wire Connectors

I used solder-seal connections while joining the roof LED-light wires. The work included a heat gun, wire routing through conduit, and finishing the remaining light connection.

Why I bought it

The roof-wiring project brought the LED-light leads into junction boxes and a PVC conduit route. I needed to join wire ends as those connections were assembled.

The TICONN solder-seal kit was among the materials for that work. Its connectors were part of the connection stage, alongside the heat gun and the tubing used elsewhere in the wiring work.

How I used it in my camper van

I ran the front driver-side light wires through a cable gland and joined the light wires using a heat gun. The work continued with additional routing through the conduit and junction boxes.

On the final day of this stage, I made the remaining LED-light connection, covered the junction boxes and completed the remaining conduit joints. My photograph shows the wire-connection work beside a junction box and conduit section.

My review

The useful part of this kit in my build was having connectors available as I worked from the individual light leads toward the routed roof wiring. Joining the wires was one stage of the wider assembly.

The connection work happened alongside pulling wires, adding a camera gland and closing boxes. My experience puts these connectors in that sequence, with the heat gun used at the wire-joining step.

The wire connections were completed as part of assembling and closing the roof-wiring route.

Two alternatives to compare

Kuject uses the same broad solder-ring-and-sleeve approach in a different connector assortment. Wirefy provides a crimped butt connector with a heat-shrink sleeve. The main distinction is how the wire ends are joined: a heat-applied solder ring versus a crimped metal barrel.

These wire-splice connectors combine a solder ring and heat-shrink sleeve in one piece. The assortment offers another heat-applied connection method for joining wire ends.
