The drawer lining required measuring and cutting rubber mat before adhesive and fasteners. My utility knife is part of the cutting kit I bought, while that diary session specifically records using scissors for the mat.

Where it fits my build
I built the storage-bin drawer frame on the patio from a measured layout. I joined the timber, added inside corner brackets and fitted the base before moving on to the lining.
I cut the rubber mat with scissors, cleaned the wood and used spray adhesive in sections with a roller. Screws and washers attached the mat, and the slides joined the drawer to its surrounding cabinet frame.

My build notes
The drawer went through several distinct stages before it could slide in the cabinet. The photographs show the exposed frame first and the lined drawer later, making the changes in access and fastening positions visible.
Measuring, framing, lining and slide installation were separate stages of the drawer assembly.

Two alternatives to compare
The Stanley knife is another retractable-blade format. The Milwaukee Fastback folds instead and includes blade storage, making the opening mechanism and storage layout the main differences.
STANLEY Retractable Utility Knives
These utility knives retract their replaceable blades into the handle. The metal body provides a handheld cutting format with a sliding blade control.
