The Water-System Concept In These Notes

The original notes propose a modular water compartment built around 2020 framing, a pan beneath the components and transparent access doors. They describe a layout idea.

Use the concept to plan where the system can be inspected and serviced. First draw the space available in your own layout, then identify the exact components and the information still needed for each connection. Keep the water-system drawing separate from assumptions about how much room the surrounding furniture will leave.

Original Planning Notes

  • Place water components in modular 2020 framing, and put some type of waterproofing around it, especially on the floor of it.
  • Put a pan under ALL of the water system components, including the water tanks.
    • Make one using 2020 and sheet metal aluminum
  • Put plexi-glass doors to view the water system on passenger side, with LED strips, and handles to open doors.

Plan Access Around The Components

  • Component record: list each selected tank, pump, filter, fitting and other part by its actual identifier. Mark undecided items as open choices.
  • Inspection: identify which connections can be seen with the access door open and which remain hidden.
  • Service space: show how each serviceable part can be reached and removed, rather than recording only its installed outline.
  • Containment: sketch the proposed pan and its boundaries. Record its intended purpose and the construction details that still need to be resolved.
  • Doors and lighting: draw the door opening and the location of any planned inspection lighting. Check that these features leave the required access.

Keep The Unresolved Design Decisions Visible

Likewise, transparent doors can help with visibility but do not resolve access behind the tanks. Record those as separate questions instead of treating the original sketch concept as a finished specification.

Keep component instructions with the project for installation, operation and maintenance details.

Use the layout measurement worksheet to record the available compartment space. The framing gallery guide helps separate visible arrangements from unknown details. Track unresolved choices in the van-build decision log.
