Solar Panel Technical Terms (Definitions)

1 min read

Max Voltage (Vmp): This is the maximum voltage that the solar panel will produce under standard test conditions (STC). For your solar panels, the maximum voltage is 20.4 volts. This is the voltage the panel will output when it’s connected to a load.

Max Current (Imp): This is the maximum current that the solar panel can produce under standard test conditions (STC). For your panels, the maximum current is 9.8 amps. This is the current that the panel will output when it’s connected to a load.

Open Circuit Voltage (Voc): This is the voltage across the terminals of the solar panel when it’s not connected to any load. For your panels, the open circuit voltage is 24.3 volts. This is the maximum voltage the panel can produce without any load connected.

Short Circuit Current (Isc): This is the current that flows through the solar panel when its terminals are shorted together. For your panels, the short circuit current is 10.2 amps. This is the maximum current the panel can produce under short circuit conditions.

Peak Power (Wp): This is the maximum power output of the solar panel under standard test conditions (STC). For your panels, the peak power is 200 watts. This is the maximum power the panel can produce when both voltage and current are at their maximum values.
